Bowflex BXT216 Treadmill Review

Bowflex BXT216 Treadmill Review

By J. Maki

Overview

The Bowflex BXT216 is a large model that is sturdy and durable and has the ability to support users up to 400 pounds. Additionally, it has a running belt wide and long enough to support taller runners with long legs and strides. Combine that with 4.0 Continuous Duty horsepower motor, and the BXT216 is an excellent choice for runners looking to put in moderate to high-level mileage.

From a convenience standpoint, the speed and incline can be adjusted using the handrails, and you can also keep track of your heart rate using the built-in hand grips or the chest strap that comes with the machine. The ability to control these variables during your workout allows you to adjust speed and incline based on your goals, and the heart rate tracking ability can show you how hard you are working.

In terms of technology, the BXT216 can connect to your smart devices through Bluetooth technology, while providing you with USB ports for charging of devices. It also provides you with the options, through subscription services, to connect with Bowflex JRNY and Explore the World app.

With JRNY, you are provided with customized workouts based on your previous workouts so that you continue to make progress in achieving your health and fitness goals. You are able to do this in different virtual settings as JRNY interfaces with Explore the World. Definitely a cool feature, but it will cost you some extra cash.

While the display is large, it is not a touch screen, nor is it capable of showing video like some of the NordicTrack models or the Peloton Tread.

In reading through customer reviews of the BXT216, which I encourage you to do, there are some concerns regarding the size of the unit and assembly, but the primary concern is the delay in achieving desired speed. When adjusting the speed setting.

Overall, this is a high-quality machine that is best suited for moderate to high-intensity exercisers. If you’d like to know if the BXT216 is right for you, email me at jmaki@thetrustedtreadmilll.com, and I will help you figure it out!

What makes the Bowflex BXT216 Treadmill unique?

While available only through subscription, the customized workouts provided through JRNY are great. Based on exercise science, users are provided with personalized workouts based on their previous performances which helps to ensure meaningful progress towards achieving your personal goals.

What is the Bowflex BXT216 Treadmill missing?

JRNY and Explore the World would be much more enjoyable with a larger, more advanced screen. The 9” LCD is very basic.
